The last 2 summers that I’ve stayed in Font Romeu for altitude training I have used this apartment. It is in an excellent location, with the Altitude Training Centre and outdoor running track a 5 minute run from the apartment, and many excellent running trails nearby or only a short drive away. The apartment is in the most striking building in the area (Le Grand Hotel Font Romeu), a building that many tourists come specially to see. The views of the surrounding countryside from the apartment are spectacular, and the centre of the town and all local amenities are no more than 5 minutes from the apartment. The apartment itself is very well kept, feeling like a home away from home, with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. It has served as an ideal base for the last 2 summers, and I look forward to returning again in the future.

We spent 10 days there during November 2012 and it’s a fantastic flat. Large living room with stunning views of the mountains, south facing so sun hits it during the day. The bedroom is really cosy and the kitchen is well equip with all the essentials. The location is second to none as itt’s only a 5 miniute run from the Altitude centre and there are some fantastic trails close by. Also, it’s only a short walk down the hill to the town. I would thoroughly recommend the apartment.

We had a very pleasant stay. Couldn’t have asked for a better place. Amazing location, great host and a beautiful apartment. Would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Kerry’s apartment is perfectly located close to the town, track and gym. The views are spectacular and the apartment has all you require for a relaxing stay while beasting out the miles. I have been to Font Romeu on a number of occasions and would definitely go back to the Grand Hotel!

A home away from home. Having spent time at the Grand Hotel over the past 2 summers I have nothing but good things to say. The apartment is ideally located with the village, training centre, gym & trails all on the doorstep. The apartment is secure & safe and is the ideal base for training. Or, in my case, sipping coffee and munching on croissants while my wife enjoyed the benefits of training at altitude. So, whether your intention is to avail of the benefits of training at altitude, or a break from the 9-5 in the south of France, FR & more specifically the Grand Hotel is perfect.

Whether you’re looking to concentrate on a hard period of training or to completely relax Font Romeu offers the perfect destination. During the past two summers I’ve stayed in the apartment for the month of July and I really consider the Grand Hotel as a second home. I’ve spent time there by myself as well as time with family and friends and I’ve always felt comfortable and secure. Who wouldn’t love to wake up to the beautiful views over the valley, the sun streaming through the window or angry clouds rolling in over the mountains? I love heading down to the village for un petit café ou un chocolat chaud, une baguette ou un crepe. It helps that the locals are so warm and welcoming always offering a friendly smile and delighted at all attempts to converse with them in French. Days fly by, filled with running/cycling, eating and sleeping – a dream life. A 2 minute walk to the gym, 10 minute jog to the track, 15 minutes to the swimming pool and endless mountain and forest trails to explore – if Carlsberg did apartments…..

This is a perfect location to eat, sleep, run and relax! The beautiful apartment has the best views over Font Romeu and is ideally situated to access the town centre with lovely coffee shops and restaurants. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and an amazing power shower for those post run hose downs. The athletics track is less than a 10 minute warm up run with a gym 2 minutes walk away. There are a variety of running trails from the doorstep or in a short drive you can access Pyrenees 2000, Lac Matemale and the Plateau. The possibilities are endless!
